I'm a total Apple addict, as you might tell.

2007 8GB 3rd Gen iPod Nano

This will be short and sweet. There’s not too much you can say about a broken iPod.

My sister-in-law brought it over with the hope that I could fix it. She figured I could just throw a new battery in it. (You know, because 3rd gen iPod Nano batteries grow on trees.)

I asked her if it worked with the charger. She said, “No. The battery must be totally dead”. Sorry. No. That’s not how it works. Even if the battery is dead-dead, it’ll still power up when plugged in via the charger.

I tried it. Nada. Zip. Dead as a doornail. She doesn’t know what happened to it. One day it worked, the next, not so much.

I told her that it’s not worth replacing the logicboard. Not for a 6-year old iPod. If you look on eBay, you can buy a used nano for $15 bucks. (No joke. I just looked). With that, she said I could add it to my collection.

That’s cool. I’m always up for a free iPod, but this one’s not exactly in showcase condition. The front is in pretty good shape, but the back is trashed.

Not that I’m complaining. A free iPod is a free iPod.
