iPhoto | Print ServicesIt's time for the annual iPhoto Book. I make a book of photo favorites for my wife every year. I used to make it in early December so that she'd have it in time for Christmas, but then the book wouldn't contain any Christmas pictures. It's not exactly "the year in review" if it's missing the most important holiday of the year! So, for the past few years, I've held off on giving her the annual book until her birthday in April.
I jumped into Aperture and exported all the 5-star pics for the entire year. I then dropped them into iPhoto and created the book. I like to mix up the themes, trying not to use the same one.
After an hour or two, I hit the Buy Book button and off to the press it went. It really is that easy.
Since I had plenty of time on my hands for this one, I went with the standard $6 shipping option.
The "Extra-Large" book measures 13" x 10" and has a base price of $49.99 for 20 pages. My book ended up being 38 pages, so it came out to $76.81. That's pretty cheap for such a large one-of-a-kind gift. I wish I put an iPhone or something in the shot to give you a sense of scale.
As always, the quality is more than acceptable. They're not 2400 dpi glossy photo prints, but they come out great nonetheless, and my wife loves them.
If you haven't made an iPhoto book yet, you really should try one. The process is painless, and the quality is great.
